Summer Markets Heat Up

64-2790 The Olmstead Home Entertainment CenterDealers and designers are invited to learn more about the  latest additions to our  growing collection of hand-painted, styled and finished custom furniture during the June 18-24, 2014 Dallas Total Home & Gift Market in the Gallery Six Showroom, WTC 11013. Among the highlights include new additions to the popular Biltmore Chateau Reserve Collection and a number of new accent and occasional designs.

Habersham and Biltmore marked their 10-year  licensing  partnership during the recent  April 2014 High Point Market  with the introduction of  new Chateau Reserve anniversary designs. The Chateau Reserve Collection, a collaboration between Biltmore and Habersham, has drawn its inspiration from the entertainment and hospitality that defined the landmark Asheville, NC estate at the turn of the century.  The collection’s grand scale designs and accent furniture pieces reflect the art, architecture, hospitality and ambiance that George W. Vanderbilt cultivated for his estate.

Dallas market attendees can learn more about the new Biltmore pieces and other new designs, including the Biltmore Olmstead Home Entertainment Center (64-2790) shown here.   This fabulously functional home entertainment center  is named for Frederick Law Olmstead, the acclaimed landscape architect who designed the gardens and grounds of the estate.  This design has two glass cabinets –each with three adjustable shelves – that flank an opening that houses entertainment essentials.  The closed door base has two adjustable shelves.  Shown in  the Graystone finish, this unit can be customized. Base also available as Biltmore Olmstead Entertainment Sideboard (#64-2791).

This shot came to us from Jill Ciccone, Allied Member ASID, Interior Designer/Owner, Haven Your Home,  Shrewsbury, NJ.   Jill chose our 27-6106 Sideboard for a home project she did in  Holmdel, NJ for her clients, a wonderful couple with four kids and a busy family life.  Jill told us the project included working with some of the client’s existing pieces and incorporating new ones, as well as adding custom window treatments throughout the home.

Habersham Biltmore Chateau Reserve Collection| Inspired By a Glorious Time. Created to Fit Your Lifestyle Today

64-2390 Habersham Biltmore Broad River BreakfrontWe were delighted to see that the editors of Furniture Today magazine included our new Biltmore Broad River Breakfront in the Spring High Point Best of Market “Editor’s Picks” section of the April 21, 2014 issue.  Named for the French Broad River which flows through Biltmore Estate, the piece shown here was featured in our High Point showroom in Sandemar and Sea Spray Multi-Color finishes.

This piece was one of the anniversary designs we unveiled during the Spring High Point Market commemorating our 10-year licensing partnership with Biltmore.  The new designs now join the Biltmore Chateau Reserve Collection, a collaboration between Habersham and Biltmore, that draws its inspiration from the entertainment and hospitality that defined the landmark Asheville, NC estate at the turn of the century.

During Spring Market we also announced the next phase of our partnership – the introduction of a new Custom Fitted Furniture Collection.  Set to debut during the Fall 2014 High Point Market, the new collection will encompass bespoke furniture for the entire home, including dressing room, wine cellar, library, kitchen, bath and other room designs.

From the beginning, our vision at Habersham has been to create furniture in keeping with Vanderbilt’s vision – versatile, high quality designs that invite homeowners to truly express their own sense of style.   The pieces have been consistent bestsellers over the years and we look forward to taking the partnership to the next level with our custom furniture capabilities.

Defining Timeless Design

Habersham Dressing Room DesignsThe recent Spring 2014 High Point Market gave us the chance to meet with current and prospective clients from all over North America, as well as overseas.  The common theme that permeated each of these client meetings was a sense of excitement for classic and traditional styles, along with the realization that Habersham’s furniture and custom capabilities fit the timeless design needs for their projects better than any other manufacturer in the marketplace today.  But what defines a classic style and what makes something truly timeless?

Of course, the simple answer is that timeless design is not affected by the whims of the marketplace or the ever-changing, always evolving design trends and style directions.  There are other elements at play here, too.  Maybe it’s the traditional look, scale or construction of a piece of furniture. Or, perhaps it is a fresh interpretation of classic or traditional design elements.  Whatever the case,  it seems that truly timeless styles embody unique, quality design elements that blend seamlessly into a range of environments.

When it comes to Habersham, a client might choose one of our hand-styled finishes to fit the classical taste of a given project, while another would see a beautifully fitted room as a way to transition from their busy day to the refuge that was envisioned by their designer. Ultimately, every room of the home, and every part of a project, can have the custom, one-of-a-kind features that make a design timeless.

Trade customers can choose from countless hand-styled finish options within Habersham’s own family of finishes – each offering distinctive looks, hues and textures created by artists using a series of techniques, tools and exacting standards. Color Your World: Versatile Finish Options To Design, Define A Room

64-2395 Biltmore Overlook Arch Bookcase in SeasprayDuring last week’s High Point Market, we used our showroom as a showcase for the versatility of our finish options.  To clearly demonstrate how a finish can change the look of a piece, and set the tone for a room, we showed one of our new introductions in two dramatically different finish options.

The design, shown here, is our Biltmore Overlook Arch Bookcase , which was inspired by the beautiful arches and ironwork in the library of the estate.  The arch design is complemented by an open, ornate grill design on the doors below.

We showed it in Sea Spray Multi-Color with Antique Honey interior (left) and in Empire, also with an Antique Honey interior (below right).  As you can seek each looks decidedly different – reflecting a more masculine or feminine look.640-2395 Biltmore Overlook Arch Bookcase in Empire

Celebrating 10 Years | Habersham and Biltmore

Habersham and Biltmore Mark 10-Year Licensing Partnership During Spring 2014 HPMKTHabersham and Biltmore celebrated our 10-year licensing partnership anniversary during last week’s Spring High Point Market.  As part of the celebration, we co- hosted a Biltmore Wine & Cheesecake Celebration in our Market Square showroom on Saturday afternoon.

Before the event was over, Tim Rosebrock, Biltmore’s Vice President and General Manager for Biltmore’s licensing division (right), presented me with a Biltmore print by artist Teresa Pennington  as a token of thanks for the successful partnership.

We have been very grateful for our partnership with the Biltmore team.  We enjoy working with everyone at Biltmore and are delighted with the direction the partnership is heading, which includes our next joint venture, the  introduction of a new Custom Fitted Furniture Collection.
