Happy Retirement andSpecial Thanks to Our New York Sales Representatives | Ira and Bonnie Epstein

by Matt Eddy, CEO  |
March 26th, 2015

Ira and Bonnie Epstein Retired Habersham Sales RepresentativesA little more than 23 years ago, I was covering sales for the state of New York since we didn’t have a representative for the area at the time.  During this period, New York retailer Apartment Living faxed over a picture of an armoire, inquiring about purchase options.  My wife Donna and I got on a plane and went to meet with the dealer, Neil Baser, and he agreed to put some of our product on the floor.

During our meeting, I asked Neil if he knew any good reps in New York and he immediately recommended Ira Epstein.  Shortly after returning home to Georgia, I got a call from Ira and he came down to our office the following Monday for orientation.  And so the story began.  I told Ira we wanted to expand brand awareness and  grow our business in the New York and Northern New Jersey areas.  Ira did just that!

Ira and his wife Bonnie retired from Habersham this year and we will miss them!  They are among   the most loyal and dedicated people   I know.  On behalf of all of us here at Habersham, we thank them for their years of service, for all they have done for our company, and wish them all the best  in the years to come.

February Featured Home Project by Tutto Interiors

by Matt Eddy, CEO  |
February 3rd, 2015

Tutto Interiors Home ProjectThis month we are excited to put the spotlight on an amazing home design project by  award-winning designer Cheryl Nestro of Tutto Interiors.

As this month’s “Featured Home” story on our website, the project  involved a complete redesign of a 10,000-square-foot home.  From tearing out walls  to converting a former theater room into a basketball  court, Cheryl  redid the residence from top to bottom.

Cheryl chose our American Treasures Media Center for her lovely Great Room design.

“These days, it is unusual to work out a great room plan that does not feature a TV over a fireplace,” she explains in the website story.  “Since the space didn’t have a fireplace, it gave us the chance to house the TV in a media cabinet design from Habersham that perfectly reflected my client’s glamorous style sensibilities.“

The entire project took 18 months to complete and received recognition in the design community with a Detroit Home Design Award for Best Traditional Great Room/Living Room

Congrats to Cheryl on this beautiful project!  Do you have stories and photos to share on how you used Habersham in your own home or design project?  Let us hear from you! And, visit our home page to see the full story!

Homeowners Seek Kitchen Designs That Can Stand The Test Of Time

by Matt Eddy, CEO  |
January 16th, 2015

Habersham Custom KitchensThere’s no question that a kitchen renovation requires a  significant investment.  So it’s not surprising that recent findings of the U.S. Houzz Kitchen Remodeling Survey confirmed that homeowners are making design choices they feel  not only  withstand  the test of time, but the winds of changing style and design trend directions as well.

Here at Habersham, we’ve always focused on quality , hand-styled craftsmanship and timeless designs that blend seamlessly in  countless décor styles  — especially when it comes to custom fitted kitchens.

From Kitchen & Bath Business magazine:

“For the majority of homeowners, the relationship with their kitchen is a significant long-term commitment to both function and aesthetics, one that can last 30 years or more.  According to the 2014 U.S. Houzz Kitchen Remodeling Survey, 25 percent of those choosing to remodel have kitchens that are more than 30 year old, and another 41 percent are updating kitchens that are anywhere from 16 to 30 years old.  Houzz found that most kitchens last two or four times longer than the typical U.S. marriage (eight years) and duration of car ownership (nearly six years.)

“We already know that kitchens are the biggest driver of discretionary spending in the remodeling market,” said Nino Stichinava, principal economist at Houzz.  “As the economy has improved, many homeowners who delayed spending on kitchen updates feel like they now have the means to remodel.  We should continue to see an uptick in discretionary spending on home improvements into 2015.”

Kitchen renovations are a major investment, commanding the largest spending levels among remodeling projects.  Given the considerable longevity and cost, homeowners are making choices to ensure they can live with their kitchens for many years to come.

Winter 2015 Market Highlights | Newest Additions to Biltmore® Chateau Reserve Collection

by Matt Eddy, CEO  |
December 31st, 2014

Habersham Biltmore Chateau Reserve We invite members of the trade to learn more about the latest additions to our growing collection of hand‐painted, styled and finished custom fitted furniture during the Winter 2015 Dallas Total Home & Gift Market in the Gallery Six Showroom, WTC 11013.

Among the highlights include additions to our  Biltmore® Chateau Reserve Collection  and other new accent furnishings.  The Chateau Reserve Collection, a collaboration between Biltmore and Habersham, has drawn its inspiration from the entertainment and hospitality that defined the landmark Asheville, NC estate at the turn of the century. The collection’s grand scale designs and accent furniture pieces reflect the art, architecture, hospitality and ambiance that George W. Vanderbilt cultivated for his estate.

Introduced earlier this year, our Biltmore Overlook Arch Bookcase was inspired by the beautiful arches and ironwork found in the library of the famed Asheville, NC estate. Now, we have has taken this popular design and created a home theater option. Fluted columns and arches come together with ornate metal grillwork for an elegant room accent.

Visit the  Biltmore section of our website to see all the  designs in the collection.
